About Us

Monk's Church Supply was started in 1983 by Jim McGrath. At the time, known as Jim McGrath and Associates. Five years later we changed our name to Monk's Wine and Candles as our inventory line began to increase. In January 2020, we again changed our name to Monk's Church Supply. This name better describes everything that we can do for the religious community.

We started with a mere half a pallet of candles, which were stored in the rectory garage of St. James in Arlington Heights. Today, we receive our shipments by the truck load, several times per month in our 10,000 square foot warehouse in Bensenville, IL.

In 1992, Jim's son Patrick McGrath came on board as a delivery person. Twenty-five years later, Jim announced his retirement at the young age of 80, making Patrick President. Patrick continues to grow the business because of his main focuses, excellent quality, customer service and  customer relationships. 

With over 35 years of servicing the Chicago Archdiocese and surrounding areas, we are now referred to as a major and knowledgeable religious goods supplier of Sacramental Wine, Religious Candles, Altar Breads, Palms, Communion Ware, Liturgical Metalware and Clergy Apparel. With so many items available for us to serve the religious community with, on January 1, 2020; Monk's Wine and Candles became Monk's Church Supply. With competitive pricing and superior customer service, we continue to proudly service our loyal customers.
